Dr Michelle McRae is a University of Sydney graduate in Chemical Engineering and subsequently of its Postgraduate Medical Program.
Born and raised in Central West NSW, Michelle always desired to return to country NSW and provide the best possible care to this regional community. A keen interest in skin health ultimately led to Dr McRae being admitted as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (ACD) in 2014.
Dr McRae is the Principle Dermatologist at Pinnacle Dermatology, based in Orange. As one of few full time dermatologists in rural Australia, Dr McRae treats patients from the whole of Western NSW, a large and diverse area with a population of over 300,000 people. Dr McRae practices as a generalist dermatologist with a focus on paediatric and genital conditions, however the need to find appropriate and accessible treatments for all rural patients is always at the forefront of her practice. Her advocacy for rural medicine also includes bringing dermatology research options for patients and training opportunities for junior doctors to the area.
Dr McRae is a regular speaker at local and national conferences, as well as being involved in several committees including being the current chair of the ACD Regional and Rural Services Committee, and as a board member of the Australia New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society (ANZVS)..
