Professor Ncoza Cordelia Dlova

Professor Ncoza Cordelia Dlova is a distinguished South African dermatologist, academic leader, and globally recognised researcher in ethnic skin and hair disorders. She serves as the Chair and Professor of Dermatology and the former immediate Dean and Head of the School of Clinical Medicine at the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal(UKZN) in Durban, South Africa.


With 170 peer‑reviewed publications, more than 15 textbook chapters, and two dermatology books focusing on South African and Black skin, numerous awards , Professor Dlova has established herself as one of the most prolific and influential voices in dermatology on the African continent. Her research expertise spans ethnic skin and hair disorders, pigmentation, alopecia, and HIV‑associated skin diseases and global skin health. 

Professor Dlova is a Board Member Director of the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) representing Africa , where she contributes to global dermatology strategy, particularly in improving access to dermatology care in low‑resource countries and strengthening diversity and inclusion across international dermatology organisations.
