Dr Rochelle Oei-Hicks

Dr Rochelle Oei-Hicks graduated from UNSW Medicine with Distinction in 2015 and attained her fellowship as a Specialist General Practitioner with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2020. She has pursued further training in dermoscopy and skin cancer medicine, and is now a first-year Dermatology Advanced Trainee with the Australasian College of Dermatologists, driven by a strong passion for skin cancer prevention and awareness and for regional and rural Medicine.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Oei-Hicks is deeply committed to research, education and patient advocacy. Her educational contributions span community sessions for local daycares, an appointment as a conjoint lecturer with University of New South Wales, and a role as a GP supervisor with the RACGP.
She brings a unique perspective as both a consumer and patient advocate, having served on consumer advisory and research groups with the Immunisation Foundation of Australia, The Kids Research Institute WA, and the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance. Her research on combatting viral misinformation on social media, and the role health professionals play in this space, has been presented at both Australian and international conferences.
